Picking Flavors

I am currently working on ordering teas, choosing what flavors I will be selling, and getting a spot at the San Luis Obispo Farmer's Market. My mom is coming to visit me in for our birthdays/Easter and she will be helping me to set up at the Farmer's Market. I am very excited about getting started. I just returned from a trip to Kansas City and came back with a new hair color, cat treats for Cosette and many promises of future visits from family and friends. Honestly I really did not want to come back, but once I got here I was happy to jump back into work at United Way. I got a very good report from Bridgette and Cosette's babysitter, apparently they were both very good girls :) Cosette even allowed the babysitter to pet her. I think they were both pretty happy to see Mommy though!

First Official Blog!

Hello Everyone,
Since this is my first blog I think I should use it to fill you in on who I am and what I do. I am a recent graduate of the University of Missouri Kansas City, my degree is in History with a minor in Classical and Ancient Studies. I am currently working as an AmeriCorps VISTA with United Way of Northern Santa Barbara County. My job is to help increase volunteerism at local nonprofit organizations and at United Way. I am part of a larger project that encompasses over 25 volunteers and is headed by California Volunteers. We are all committed to helping combat poverty by increasing nonprofits capacity to better utilize volunteers. I will be working as a VISTA until December of 2009 and I am very excited to accomplish all of my goals. Needless to say, I am currently missing my friends and family back in Missouri very much and I hope to be able to use this blog to keep them updated on what I am doing as well. I have started Top Shelf Teas as a way to prepare myself for what I will do when my VISTA job is over. Just for the record, Top Shelf Teas is a hobby for me right now that does not interfere with my VISTA project and I am not employed by another company.
Right now I am working on getting a spot at the weekly San Luis Obispo Farmers Market. I hope to be able to set up a table there by the begining of April. Until then if you are interested in ordering some tea let me know through this blog. I better get going for now. Happy blogging!
